The Grade 4's worked together to apply their knowledge of multiplication and division to this number challenge! The Grade 4's worked with the Grade 3's to create a community in "The year 3018" using only tape! We studied the art of Tapigami to inspire us and then our imaginations took over :). (We also began our study of light and shadow with a Lego STEAM activity) Today, we discovered more about Calgary's history when we looked at the origin of names for different roads and rivers in our city!
This led to the question, what do our names say about us? For homework, the Grade 4's will be looking into the origin of their name. Tomorrow, we will dive further into what our names contribute to our identities. Please feel free to help your child with this assignment! :) We had a wonderful time at the Glenbow Museum learning about Alberta's resources and it's people! Thank you so much to our fantastic volunteers for joining us :). Student-led Conferences are on Thursday! Don't forget to sign up and come visit the classroom between 1:00 - 8:00. The Grade 4's will be leading tours through their work :).
Today, your child is bringing home a field trip form for the Glenbow Museum (November 21st). We are looking for volunteers to accompany us on this day long field trip! If you are interested, please email me at [email protected].
Thank you! Today, Grade 5 helped us to review our vocabulary for classroom supplies! Grade 4 has been creating poppy art for the assembly tomorrow. Here are some samples of our process! Students were engaged in a variety of sessions this morning.
