This week, the Grade 4’s attended their first construction class and met their Kinder buddies. We continued our study of community - Grade 4’s discussed heroes in our community and wrote about their own heroic journey. We also began our study of place value and discussed the importance of understanding the value of each digit. Next week, we will be working on multi-digit addition and subtraction.
The Grade 4’s also worked with Grade 3 to design a prototype solving or improving a problem at school. Students created finger print locks, robots, water bottle holders, extended rulers, and more! We also created a marble maze. Please enjoy some of the examples in the slideshow below. Next week will be another busy week! Following are some important dates to note:
I hope that you have each received your child’s field trip form. Please have them returned by Tuesday, September 18. We are looking for five volunteers to come with us on our field trip! Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like to join us. We will be departing Rideau Park by bus at 9:40 a.m. and returning to the school by bus at 1:00 p.m. (you do not need to join us for the bus ride). Comments are closed.
